Connecting The Dot’s Youth Program

We truly believe that by leveraging our deep understanding of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural and providing intensive cultural mentoring, we can effectively address the social and emotional needs of our First Nations youth.

Engaging them in activities like fishing trips, cultural art therapy and on-country camps allows them to reconnect with their heritage and rediscover their cultural identity. This connection creates a strong sense of belonging among the youth, which can significantly help in reducing antisocial behaviours.

By immersing them in these culturally rich experiences, we not only help them understand their roots but also empower them to build a positive community around themselves. When young people feel a strong connection to their culture and environment, it nurtures their self-esteem and encourages healthier social interactions. Ultimately, this approach not only benefits the individuals involved but also contributes to the overall well-being of the community.
